Zahra Gordon is a poet, writer and MFA candidate in the University of Baltimore’s Creative Writing & Publishing Arts program. She has worked as a journalist with the Trinidad Express and T&T Guardian and also been a contributor to Caribbean Beat and UWI Today magazines. Her poetry has been published in literary journals such as Amistad, Mantis, phat’itude, Kalyani, TRAUE and The New Engagement. Gordon is an alumna of Howard University where she served as the Amistad Interviews/Reviews Editor. A winner of the 2010 Furious Flower Poetry Competition, her work was longlisted for the Hollick Arvon Prize for Caribbean Writers in 2015 and in 2018, was published in the anthology Thicker Than Water (Peekash Press).
